Here are a few that may interest you:
- Strong domain name which is relevant to keywords you would like to optimize for and lets not forget something that is credibile.
- Basic link building using some of the major directories.
- Nice design and copy and be sure to not to stuff keywords just so you get better ranking, market it towards users who may actually want to read through your site.
